CMH Tower and Base Building
Columbus, Ohio

Our country's air traffic controllers manage air travel and communicate with pilots to ensure the safety of nearly two million passengers every day. Offensive and contaminated air is common to an airport's chaotic environment. Within a control tower, substandard air quality can detract from the Air Traffic Controller's attention and focus.

This concern was the primary motivation for the Federal Aviation Administration's decision to make a change from the conventional methods of the past. Prior to the completion of the CMH Air Traffic Control Tower and Base Building, three ducted ionair® systems were added to the air-handling units to ensure the distribution of 30,000 cfm of clean, fresh comfortable air.

  • FAA personnel have internet access to system graphs to confirm continuous operation
  • Building occupants are less likely to be concerned with indoor air quality
  • Compared with conventional systems, ionair® will reduce energy, maintenance & replacement costs
  • Ducted ionair® systems are simple to install & will not interfere with the air handling unit performance
